2D Top down. Think Enter The Gungeon, Hotline Miami, Prison Architect 1, Rimworld, etc.
Some of the commissions have been fulfilled and the results are surprising!
Unfortunately, I will not be posting the art as this is concept art for the game and I'd rather not divulge information that might, or not, be used in as the game move forward.
But, I can assure you that the work is Good!
Also, an update on the game itself. As I move forward with the project, I will make quick and dirty small videos, usually under 2 minutes, to spare everyone's time, to show progress.
The latest one showcases the--empty--dungeon generation for a short run. (Best viewed at twice the speed!)
Enjoy!

After many hours spent staring at images, doing reverse-image search and much pondering, I culled the list from +100 private messages and emails to 14. Then finally, to 4.
The lucky four have been notified and I expectantly wait for their response so I can finally choose who will doodle that character.
If one of the four hasn't replied by 23:00 tonight (Wednesday, Feb 28th), they will be disqualified. Hopefully it doesn't happen. I would hate to do that. But the show must go on, as they say.
The four finalists are, in no particular order:
Luna Alice : https://twitter.com/AliceLunaartist
Sia Chan : https://twitter.com/revencue
Mackie : https://twitter.com/mackieb000
Sarah James : https://twitter.com/sarahhjames11
They are all very good artists and I'm humbled by their talent. This will not be an easy choice, that is to be sure.
Hello visitor,
If you are here, odds are it is because I have offered to commission an art piece for a personal project I'm working on. The project is a video game in a high and dark fantasy medieval theme setting. More specifically, it is the story of four sisters fighting to control the throne of their recently deceased mother, the queen.
There are no details fleshed out about each of the sisters, their temperament, outlook, etc. What is known at this point is that each will wield a different type of weapon. Bow, sword, unarmed and mystic (magic). There is no more details than that. That decision has not been 'made,' it is just me that hasn't had the time to think on this. It also leaves all the creativity into the artists' hands.
The post on my Twitter Account explains many of the visuals I like and suggesting I be looking for in the game. The posts quickly talk about things I like and things I like less. It will be a top-down, 2D game. The genre is Rogue-light/like with several twists that I never seen personally in other games.
Each of the four main characters will have their own visual theme which will be reflected in the dungeons themselves (details on that one day, not soon as it is part of the surprise things I have in store for the game mechanics).
There are many, but many other things going on in the game. But that is irrelevant to the commission itself. So, here are specifics I can give; in a neat little list. These are in no particular order.
What the commission consist of:
1 of 4 sisters (choice of artist)
Bow
Sword
Unarmed
Mystic
High fantasy world. Not garish. Sober.
No sexualization, suggestive, lewdness for any character. This has to feel real, normal and convenient.
There will be no reference work. You're the expert. It's in your hands.
I feel this might also bias your own work.
Size of commission should be 256x256 at the maximum.
Character should have a neutral expression.
There is NO deadline (but within a time frame of < 6 months please).
Things that bring me joy: Counter-culture approach.
i.e.: Bow theme going different direction of woodland/elvish theme, etc.
Type of art. I don't have a preference. But, don't forget: CONCEPT ART.
Game isn't themed around manga, cartoon or science tech.
Background is unimportant. Use what you are comfortable with.
Budget: I have had offers to take on the work for between 50$ to 200$, so around that price range. But, don't forget that this is 256x256 pixels maximum, which is relatively small even for concept art. So price accordingly. In the end, you're the artist. You know what you're worth. I don't.
MONDAY the 26 of February, I will announce here who wins the commission. It will be during the evening.
I have receive more than 90 DMs from different people asking about this (probably many bots among those), and I will check out everyone's portfolio and/or image dumps. I give myself 4 days so I can give everyone a fair and equal chance at getting the commission.
It is possible there will be more commissions down the line; there ARE 3 more characters. There are also many support characters. Also the tilesets, etc. So, don't despair, there might be a second and other waves. But, with that said, I will not make promises.
I think that covers it all. If you have questions that I have not covered here, please drop me an email (down in the footer) or DM me on twitter and I'll update the list above.
Thank you for all your interest. It's much appreciated.
